What's Next

The “What’s Next?” series is an example of community involvement in art.  Many friends and family contributed material to make these works possible.  After deciding the design format for the collections and how to attach them to the canvas, numerous coats of flat, white ceiling paint were applied.  The paint unified the objects and created a sculptural effect, with the resulting shadows an important aspect of the piece.

Art Clips

“Art Clips” is a collection of collages, with images taken from magazines; Art in America and Life in particular.  They were made to illustrate events that took place during the post-war period between WWII and the war in Vietnam.  Hopefully, people of my generation will enjoy reminiscing, while younger patrons will be reminded of the progress American society has made.  The setting is the South, with events told from a young girl’s personal perspective, but many stories are deemed universal.  The collages are meant to be humorous as well as informative.
